Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, emphasized the importance of collaboration between workers and employers for the country’s progress during the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She expressed the commitment to expanding labor rights and avoiding a regression to the past.
In her speech, Sheinbaum Pardo stressed that aligning goals and purposes is crucial to maintaining the transformation in Mexico’s public life. She highlighted the importance of continuing with the Fourth Transformation, avoiding a return to times of corruption and privileges.
After the swearing-in of the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation of CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated the commitment to ensuring a dignified life for workers, emphasizing the collaboration between the labor and business sectors, an approach promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
For his part, Pedro Haces Barba, Senator of the Republic and Secretary General of CATEM, highlighted the achievements obtained through cooperation between labor representatives and the government of the 4T. He mentioned advances such as the increase in the minimum wage and the elimination of outsourcing, stressing the need to base every decision on the principles of the 4T movement.
Senator Ricardo Monreal highlighted the importance of strengthening the relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights under the direction of Sheinbaum Pardo.
The XV National Congress of CATEM also featured figures such as Mario Delgado Carrillo, National President of Morena, as well as governors and representatives from various institutions, showing broad support and backing for the principles and objectives established at the meeting.
