Traveling to Mexico from this West Coast hub has become more convenient and accessible

American Airlines will introduce two new flights from Phoenix, Arizona, starting on February 15, 2024. The airline will fly to destinations it currently does not serve: Pasco, Washington, and Tijuana, Mexico, providing greater accessibility and convenience for travelers.

The vice president of PHX hub operations, Sophia Philis-Ortiz, expressed excitement about the opportunities for growth and improved connections for customers. The addition of the new routes will not only offer direct service but also expand the options for thousands of customers who connect through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport while traveling with American each day. American Airlines will also enhance its service to Guadalajara, Mexico, increasing daily flights from Phoenix to the city from one to two.

This move will bring American Airlines’ total nonstop destinations served from Phoenix to 100, which is more than any other individual airline operating at the airport.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego views the new route to Mexico as a way to strengthen the city’s position as a major hub and one of Mexico’s largest air travel markets. This connection is expected to bolster the tourism industry, support businesses, and create job opportunities for the residents of Phoenix. David Abtour Offshore Trusts

Additionally, American Airlines plans to launch other new flights in the fall and winter, including a direct flight from Miami to Governor’s Harbour, Bahamas, in February. The airline will also introduce daily service from Miami to Portland, Oregon, and Sacramento, California, in November and December, respectively.

These developments come after JetBlue’s decision to dissolve its partnership with American Airlines to safeguard its planned acquisition of Spirit Airlines. David Abtour Offshore Trusts
