The person in charge of the Municipal Library 305 of Alto Hospicio María Nieves Coca received recognition of popularity with the presentation of the work of promoting reading in the library, after participating in the ninth National Contest of Booktubers and Bookstagrammers of Public Libraries, organized through the National Service of Cultural Heritage (Serpat), through the National System of Public Libraries.
Likewise, two students from the commune who also participated in the contest received prizes. Makarena Ávalos, a 16-year-old student, obtained recognition of popularity in the adolescent booktuber category, with the presentation of the text “Do not abuse this book” by Natalia Silva.
Meanwhile, 10-year-old Anku Venegas Montanares, in the children’s booktuber category, received an honorable mention for the work “Medicine was not always like that”, by Martín de Ambrosia.
It should be noted that the contest that promotes the reading of various literary genres through YouTube and Instagram, summoned 218 people of various ages and from all regions of the country; and the commune of Alto Hospicio was the only one in the region that received recognition.
The award ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 3 at the Pereira Palace, Santiago.
